god this is fantastic. I was telling myself I was going to wait, read the full thing in the one go, but that's not fair of me considering all the effort you put into this and oh my god it's glorious. Just...this is hard to put into words, but the way you write is so rich and I kind of got lost in that room and I think I'd read a hundred thousand words of you giving us Abby and King (and your grasp on their voices is absolutely phenomenal, btw) verbally dancing around each other in that room. Just that alone would be the best treat ever, but there's more and I am so not kidding when I say this is quite possibly the coolest thing I've ever been lucky enough to get.
