So, I got home this evening and on my doormat there was a small envelope. I recognised Leah's writing, and thought, 'Ah. This is why she wanted my address - I thought she was up to something.'

Inside was a mix CD. 'Aww,' I thought. 'That's so sweet. No one's ever made me a mix CD before.' And the note inside said that she and

the_moonmoth had decided I didn't get enough love or appreciation, so they made me a mix that I could play when I was feeling pissed off and unappreciated :)

So, I potter about, trying to get my housework done because Nibble was out until 7pm. Then I checked my mail, and there were mails in there, mails that said 'Thanks for Wraithbait'.

By the time I'd spotted three of them in my inbox I was a bit 'um... what?' Because three at once... I'd like to believe that 'thank you's are like buses, and after nothing for ages three come at once, but I'm not convinced.

And then, as gmail gives you the first line of the mail on the front page, I saw that one of them said 'In honour of Alyse Appreciation Day'.

This was me --> 0.0

Then I loaded up my LJ friends page...

Seriously, guys, thank you. I'm tearing up here. I really am. It's... I really don't know what to say. Congratulations :) You have all finally stunned me into silence.

Just... thank you. I don't think I can say anything more heartfelt than that, and please be clear that it really is heartfelt.

You deserve it. And it probably shouldn't take an "Appreciation Day" for us (okay me) to let you know how much we do appreciate all the hard work you put into the archive, but better late than never I guess. Thanks again!

I can't even imagine how much hard work it is to run an archive and constantly deal with us writers and or more or less annoying questions and problematic technology and everything else.

So thank you very much for doing it and for offering us all a place to archive our stories and to find a lot of reading material.

I don't really pretend to know what you do in the fandom since I'm not really in it, but can I join the lovefest and say thank you for being a friend and a shoulder to cry on at times when I've really needed it?

I know I'm a little late here but thank you very muchly for running Wraitbait, despite any trouble it causes you.

It's a wonderful archive, as evidence by the award it won, and I use it alot of the time, certainly makes my day when I'm sad and I can come and browse some fic to cheer me up there. So much appreciation for you making that possible for lots of people - you bring happiness to others so it's well deserved that you get big hugs and all for it at least once a year. :)

Okay, the idea that I'm somehow organising other people's lives when I can barely organise myself a cup of tea is very, very scary ::g::
