Author's Notes: Book One was originally written for the Primeval Ficathon (now at

primevalathon) for

temaris, whose prompt was part or all of the team are trapped when an anomaly closes, and they have to find a way home and who wanted a happy ending, action/adventure, Connor heroics, and Abby/Connor.

The title - and quotes - are from 'The Sun' by Maroon 5.

Book 1: The first step is always the hardest. After that, it's all downhill.
