New season of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries starts airing on the 6th September and I cannot wait!
Currently rewatching Season 1 with
aithine and giggling and gasping and admiring the awesome and the snark and the beautiful costumes!
If you haven't seen this show yet, you're missing out. Basically, it's a series about a lady detective in 1920s Melbourne, based on the books by Kerry Greenwood. Phryne Fisher is awesome, the supporting cast are adorable (especially Hugh and Dot), the mysteries are engaging, there's a gay female doctor who's Phryne's best friend, Phryne has a variety of love interests and an interesting and engaging relationship with Inspector Jack Robinson, who is both exasperated with and admiring of Phryne (in that he goes rapidly from thinking she's an interfering socialite to understanding that she's smart, brave and has insight and starts listening to her in very short order, while also being smart and insightful himself).
I could wax lyrical, but I think it's best if I give you a link to some posts on tumblr that give you a flavour of it here.
And my favourite:

Miss Fisher: When I disturbed him and he ran off with the book, I gave chase, and he took a shot at me, so I did the only thing I could in the circumstances.
Detective Inspector Jack Robinson: You called for help?
Miss Fisher: I stabbed him in the shoulder.
In short, I love it and if you haven't seen it yet, you should seriously check it out.
