Dear yuletide writer
First of all, thank you so much for volunteering to write in one of the tiny fandoms of my heart. Just having fic in one of these fandoms is enough to make me happy so I am sure that I will love whatever you write.
I'm going to give you some of my likes and dislikes right up front, because I know some people would rather know that. If you want a flavour of some of the things that I love writing – and therefore reading – so far I've written Blade: Trinity, which is under the 'fic fandom: blade trinity' tag and Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place, which is under the 'fic fandom: other' tag on my DW/LJ/IJ. However, I really don't expect you to wade through my stories at all – I'm just putting it out there in case that's the kind of information you like to have :-)

I'm all about the female characters in the vast majority of my fandoms. I like strong, competent women, but strong doesn't necessarily mean break down the door, kick ass strong. I like women in all of their flavours – from the warriors to the homemakers, from the CEOs to those just muddling through – but I like women who are not afraid to speak their mind or take charge or be good at what they do.
I like subtlety and understated feelings - I'm more for quiet or awkward exchanges than outright declarations, unless outright declarations are in character. Either plot or PWP is fine with me, because I'm all about the connections between the characters, the friendships built on firm foundations, the love both romantic and practical. I like snark and banter if that's in character, but also gentle touches and kissing (I could read entire stories about kissing). As far as subject matter goes, at the end of the day, it's the words and the rhythms of them that make me happy so whether you want to go slice of life, deeply plotted, or simply write a thousand words of porn, it's all good with me.
Dislikes
Given the above, it is unsurprising that my pet hates are minimising the contributions of female characters or erasing them from the narrative. Other things include characters acting out of character to further the plot rather than the plot arising out of the characters (I love character driven plots). I don't mind hurt/comfort as long as there is some comfort, but I'm not fond of non-con (although I can deal with it when it's canon). I'm afraid that agendafic or extreme kink doesn't do a great deal for me. Also, because Yuletide is my happy place, no character death or resolutely unhappy endings, please (angsty or bittersweet are fine, as long as there's some hope).
Hopefully that hasn't scared you off :-) so onto the actual requests.
