Decisions, decisions...

Firstly, an announcement: I aten't dead. Just full of busy and with very little energy for... well, anything much at the moment. Which is why I've mostly been hanging on twitter, as that demands nothing more than 140 characters for me. I have, however, finally got around to doing a post I've been thinking about for a while, largely because I checked the het_bigbang comm and found that I'd missed a post about when sign ups were opening (I thought beginning of April - it's the beginning of May).

So that gives me a little more time to think and to ponder my conundrum.

Trying to decide what to write for this year's Het Big Bang. It's definitely going to be Blade: Trinity and Abigail/King, but at the moment I'm torn between three ideas:

1. 'King gets bitten again' hurt comfort, sort of an expansion of/sequel to Walked When I Shoulda Run. Lots of scope for angst and ~feelings~ and hurt comfort, also for Zoë to be there, being adorable in her solemn way.


2. Space!Pirate AU - where Abby owns a beaten up freighter, scraping a living on the edges of explored space with her crew of misfits, and King is the washed up pilot who is working an isolated relay station in the back of beyond. When Abby's ship is attacked by the mysterious Clans who rule the outreaches of space, hopped up on the highly addictive but life extending designer drug, Blood, it's King who helps guide her battered ship into a safe harbour when she's injured and barely able to function. She owes him her life, and those of her crew, and he's certainly not hard on the eyes when you've been out in the dark for as long as she has. But even as she grows closer to him as they work to repair her ship, exactly what is the past he's running from, and is it about to collide painfully with the present?


3. And this is the one that has eaten my brain over the last few weeks - a twisted erotic thriller set pre-movie where King is still a vampire and Abby is desperate to prove her worth and get out from under the shadow of her father. So when there comes a chance for a young female to go undercover as the newest in a long line of familiars from a family who has served vampire for generations, she volunteers. But does she know what she's in for when no sooner has she been accepted into the familiar fold, she's assigned to be the personal plaything of Danica Talos' latest toy? This one would be quite explicit and *ahem* adult in nature, but the problem is that I'm not entirely convinced it's in character for Abby. King I'm less worried about, because I think by that point he's jaded and pretty much resigned to being Danica's very bitter boytoy. But I'm having difficulty seeing Abby going along with it, although the premise does require her to be a reluctant participant.

Sign ups start on the 1 May, so I have a month to make up my mind and come up with more than a synopsis. And let's see if I end up writing more than 100,000 words this time, too!
