*looks guilty* I may have commited that particular sin a little in my Five Days series
I think that's different though - you had Ryan, with his pack and his training. That would make a world of difference to how they'd be able to cope. What got me about 2.04 is that Abby and Connor didn't have anything - Abby because she'd been snatched and carried through and Connor because he didn't hesitate to follow her :)
So I had to go there. Because I am evil. And because I really love doing that - not nitpicking, but figuring things out in my rather twisted brain and trying to figure out where all the loopholes are and how they can overcome them without going all deux ex machina.
But I'm trying not to rely on google because, hey, they don't have access ::g:: So I'm pulling all of the bits out of my own subconscious and my own memories of TV shows and books and classes that I've taken, in the hope that it rings more true that way. I had a brain fart like that this morning, about how to make a compass out of a needle and some water (seriously - this brain is weird and retains lots of random crap), which I might have to work in if I can.
What I really want to do is see if I can work in something out of the Zombie Survival Guide because, dude, you know that Connor has a copy.
there's an almost constant low-level trepidation whenever they're moving around in the environmant.
That's coming from my brain too ::g:: Seriously - you'd be scared shitless all of the time, especially when the reason that you ended up there was because something grabbed you, probably for lunch. So for me, it's the world they're in that's just as much of an antagonist as the Mer's - everything from the lightning we saw in the background in that ep, to the harsh cliffs, to the sea, to the heat.

I'm having fun. Can you tell?
