I also particularly liked the look at Nick and Helen's relationship at the beginning.
One tiny nit-pick: there's no formal tenure system in the British universities and the word isn't really used, certainly not with the American meaning. It's something that people often get wrong in Primeval fics - guess like anything when people are getting your own profession wrong, it matters to me but is probably entirely irrlevant to most readers.
