Abby is trapped, yes. She's a lot stronger than she thinks, but she's understandably caught up between her loyalty to Frank and her team, her mission to kill vamps and her feelings for King.
And Frank... yeah, he can be an ass, but he's feeling things spiralling out of control and even Abby, who he thought he could rely on in spite of everything, isn't acting the way he thinks she should (i.e. unquestioning).
