I keep doing drabbles. Someone stop me, please. I could drabble for England, I really could. I went on a mad drabble spree in New Pros a couple of years back and there are still people who twitch every time the words 'drabble' and 'alyse' are mentioned.
I do like those little snippets though. I like the cleanness of them, the challenge of conveying something within a limited number of words. If they're done well, they're crisp, small and perfectly formed. It's possible to ramble within a drabble and say nothing, but I love the challenge of making every single word count. It makes my little geeky heart happy to play about with words until it's snappy and pointed.
And for that very reason I think that drabbles are perfectly suited to Sam/McKay. They snap and sizzle and convey a world of mingled attraction and repulsion with a few choice words, so how can you not use the perfect vehicle of a 100 words drabble to convey that?
::raises eyebrow:: My, my. For an old guy he does have some stamina, doesn't he?
Which only goes to prove that Thor is a slut. And confirms what I said about Teal'c's stamina ;)

*pops an extra-strength Prozac* The medication helps with the twitching, honest. *twitches*

Do I sense a tinge of rationalisation? Al, you're writing het hon... it's nothing to be ashamed of. Ok it is. ;-) Say 50 Hail Mary's and redeem yourself by faxing Grissom a detailed map of Nick's g-spots. *cackles wickedly* Send copies to Warrick & Greg too just to be on the safe side. ;-)

::smirk:: Honey, Grissom is a scientist. I don't think he really needs that map. If there's one thing he understands, it's the need for research. Detailed, in depth and meticulous research. Empirical evidence that can be reperformed with the same results. With comparative studies if necessary.
Oooooh, Warrrrrrick?
