Title: Dead Man Stalking
Rating: PG
Spoilers: The Stalker
Theme: Cath, Nick friendship.
Summary: Nick fails and falls in his stalker's wake.

She watches as Grissom shakes his hand. "It's been a pleasure, Nick."

From the twist of Nick's mouth she knows he doesn't buy it but he summons up a smile, which doesn't reach his eyes. His eyes say he thinks he's a failure, driven from his job by a psycho stalker.

When it's her turn, she pulls him into her arms for the hug she knows the others want to give and tells him fiercely, "You take care, hear me?"

He pulls back, his eyes damp. She's close to tears herself as he walks away.

He didn't fail. They did.

Although I think the one comment I got to it in csi100 kind of missed that. Apparently it's nice even if you're not a C/N'er. ::boggles:: And here's me thinking it was just what it said on the box - Cath and Nick friendship.

Hey, I've written gen before! At least 1.37% of my fic is gen. That's, like, statistically significant or something.

I need more sleep obviously before I go completely teenie.

Well it still seems unnatural to *me*, but maybe that's just me.

I am, however, greatly relieved by your icon. Order has been restored to my little corner of the universe. Will reserve the intervention for a later date if it becomes necessary. ;-)
