Update on the Czech is in the Male ficathon

I'm still missing four stories for the ficathon and I need those outstanding stories as soon as possible. Otherwise I'm going to have to arrange pinch hits and that won't be easy. Out of twenty sign-ups, six people haven't delivered on what they promised, and that's a lot of pinch hits to organise from a very small pool of people.

I realise that sometimes real life gets in the way and that some delays are inevitable, but I would ask that those authors who haven't delivered their assignment please get them up as soon as possible.

I've already organised four pinch hits, two of which have been delivered, but I'm afraid that my priority is understandably going to be to arrange pinch hits for those authors who have already posted their stories rather than those authors who have not.

And if there are any volunteers for pinch hits, I'd welcome you with open arms :) Thank you - I have pinch hitters now for everyone I think.

Still, I do wonder why we even bother for people who don't bother themselves. Kinda defeats the object.

S'why I didn't even bother to sign up for my own story written. People so rarely give back, and often don't even try to give what's asked, that I'd rather just pinch hit and do my best for people than hope for something when a lot of people are unreliable. That way no disappointments for Emsky!

I suspect this will be the last ficathon I ever run to be honest. I was very, very disappointed with the high level of no shows. Even the SGA Santa this year only had three pinch hits, and it was four times the size of this one.

Mind, it's my own fault for being so pleased about the low level of Santa pinch hits. I was obviously setting myself up for a karmic fall ::g::

Clearly! Well at least your pool for this one is clearly very happy for the most part to pinch-hit. Better than you suddenly having to write half the no-shows!

Nice also to see no obvious screaming about it, either. *grins*

I think most people are being very, very patient about not getting their stories and I'm grateful for that. It still leaves me feeling awful about it, but I think three extra days is enough before I start calling in the reinforcements :)

I couldn't write all of these pinch hits myself on top of 10 hour days, knitting stuff for the charity auction and child wrangling. But I have a wonderful flist anc co-archivists who have picked up some of the slack.

I just have the pets and the job and that's more than enough for me - child-chasing and all the rest? I don't know HOW you manage it. No, really. Please don't tell me. I like my Sanity Points. *grins*

Well as you have so many wonderful volunteers... it's just the best of a bad situation.

Oh, and I forgot to mention. I found another beady craft shop place right near my work. Just opposite the closest petrol station in fact. Think Dainty but smaller and better organised.

I have new knitting needles and I'm not afraid to use them ::g:: Also, they had strings of gemstones and loads of beads.

It's a very, very dangerous place to find.
