I see that once again - as it has been for weeks and weeks now - the site is fucking unuseable in the evenings, once the Americans get online.

Somehow I suspect thist isn't to do with any DDoS attacks, especially as it's at least useable before peak times, but rather is down to the fact that the site is creaking and needs a serious hardware upgrade.

It's seriously, seriously starting to piss me off. Once 8.30 hits, it's fucking ridiculous. It takes several minutes to load pages, and Scrapbook is virtually inaccessible. Less time on your fucking LJ gifts and bollocking goat and meme crap fanfic, and more time on fixing things would be appreciated.

P.S. Update your fucking status page. It's not been updated for a week, and no the errors did not 'go away soon'. Somehow I think even you aren't so incompetent you'd still be doing 'site maintenance', unless 'site maintenance' consists of sticking an elastoplast over the worst bit and hoping no one spots the bleeding exit wound at the back. Sheesh.

It's past annoying. It's been bloody weeks and they still haven't got their act together.

It's always, always slow in the evenings. Some nights you can get around it by clicking on the link again - it obviously hangs the first time, because it's so slow, but trying again is sometimes successful. I've grown so used to stopping and connecting again it's second nature now.

But Scrapbook is virtually inaccessible in the evenings, and I'm particularly frustrated today because that's the bit I need.

That's been happening to me on and off, but not nearly as consistently as it seems with you. Certainly not every day. I haven't used Scrapbook recently, though.

I've submitted a support request. It won't do any good, but it made me feel better.

It's scrapbook that really winds me up the most. As you say, it's totally unusable from around 9pm. Utterly ridiculous.

I know. I've been trying to get a head start on the latest legendland graphics challenge by uploading the entries so far, so I'm ready when voting goes live tomorrow, and I've just had to give up. If I create a new gallery, it won't show it to me to upload photos into unless I create it on the upload page - so I ended up with three galleries called the same thing - and it won't let me move from existing galleries to new galleries unless those galleries already have pics in them, because it's not showing empty galleries on either the upload or the edit pictures pages.

All I want to do is have subgalleries inside a main gallery, so I have a gallery for each fucking challenge.

I could cry, I really could.

It's beyond frustrating now. I think I have fewer nights without any problems more and more.

I've been thinking for a while now that LJ needs some kind of overhaul and much less focus on such cosmetic stuff like the vgifts.

Yep, I'm with you on that one. Get rid of the crappy games, the vgift pushing, that bloody goat, and concentrate on actually providing the service that people are paying you for.

Nope. It's them.

I finally had a reply to my support request, and they've acknowledged that it's the site that's slow and apologised for not updating the status page. They've assured me it's a priority for their engineers, but I believe that when I see it.
