Anyone planning on doing fandom_stocking this year? If so, want to give me a heads up on what you think you'll be requesting (and possibly drop me some links to your post when it eventually goes live)?

Can't promise anything but given that I've been writing more recently it's a possibility that Santa might slip something into your stocking :)

Hey, there. I just checked the comm out, out of curiousity, and it looks interesting.

I'm not sure I understand how it works, though, and I couldn't find a rules post. So, I think I understand how you submit a letter (when the letter post goes live) and then ... I get confused at that point about how the fills happen.

Can you post a link to the letter, like for Yuletide, and then freinds and random people can post fills in the comments to the post at the comm? And the assignments are for people who don't get any/many fills?

What happens is that you submit a letter in the comments of the submission post. The mod then reposts all of the letters to the comm as separate posts and sets them to be 'screened comments'.

People then leave things in comments, whether that's fic or icons or art or even just 'seasonal greetings'. Sometime after Christmas - I think it's normally just after New Year (I've only done it once and can't remember), the mod unscreens all the comments and people can go and find their post and see the stuff that people have left for them. The fact that the mod reposts the letters and screens comments means you don't get to see stuff until then :)
